About Mechanical

Mechanical Engineering department at our Autonomous college in Warangal commenced offering UG programme B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering in the year 2009 with an initial intake of 60 students, which was enhanced to 120 students in the year 2012 and to 180 in the year 2013. In the year 2014, the Institute became autonomous and the current intake of the department is 180. The department is also offering one PG programme M.TECH Thermal Engineering with an intake of 30. The Department has a requisite number of faculty members, striving to incorporate excellence in theory, practice and research. Undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at Vaagdevi college of engineering are at a standard of a top Engineering College with the innovative, integrated and well-designed curriculum structure which gives students a solid foundation in core disciplines like mechanics, manufacturing, and thermal systems, together with essential areas of mathematics and physical sciences. Throughout the curriculum, design courses, laboratory courses, and project courses allow students to acquire a taste for the complex task of designing, analyzing, and building a device.

Experienced and dedicated faculty of our autonomous college, more than 15% of them are holding Doctorates. Diversified specializations, and experienced supporting staff. Faculty members published a significant number of research papers in national and international journals, conferences. Our B.Tech autonomous college in Telangana conducts Workshops and FDP’s in advanced mechanical engineering concepts. Equipped with a wide range of CAD/CAM software like CATIA, CREO, ANSYS, AUTOCAD, FLEXSIM, etc. to cater to the UG/PG programmes for design, modeling, and analysis of engineering products and research projects. VCE has a digital library to support faculty and students as support for projects and research by providing access to E-Journals, E-Books, textbooks, and project reports. Facilitated to manufacture complex parts with CNC Lathes and CNC Milling machine apart from the machine shop and workshop to carry out student and faculty research projects. VCE conducts training & Certification Courses in order to impart Skill development and enhance employability.

The following program outcomes are expected to be found in the graduate students on their completion of the 4-year program.

  • PO-1: Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, computing, science, electrical and electronics engineering.
  • PO-2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO-3: Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
